All about microbiology: PIKA Weihenstephan is specialized in development, production and sales of innovative products for microbiological control and analytics. Our product developments are derived from analyses we do in our specialized microbiology lab. The highly specialized company was founded in the year 2000 by Dr. Gudrun Vogeser as a spin-off from the Chair of Brewing Sciences at the Technical University of Munich-Weihenstephan, where she had developed the PCR analytics for breweries.

PIKA Weihenstephan is an internationally active company having its registered office in Pfaffenhofen/Ilm mid-in the hop growing area Hallertau. Our customers are mainly – but not only – breweries (from company Groups to small Craft brewery) and the beverage industry. Following our business motto “We know and can do microbiology” we put all our knowledge, experience and competence which we have established during many years in our special working area into our portfolio of products and services.

PIKA always stands for highest quality and best service – therefore we are enjoying an excellent reputation in the brewing and beverage industry. In the development of new tests and methods, we are always working together with the market leaders. All fields of our business activity are certified according to ISO 9001:2015 since the year 2007.

Dr. Gudrun Vogeser is actively working on the improvement and harmonization of international analysis methods in brewing microbiology as a founding member and today as chair of the Subcommittee Microbiology of the Analytica EBC (European Brewery Convention). Our expert team is consisting of microbiologists with broad experience in the brewing area. We accompany our customers when setting up their in-house analyses and also develop products and methods for microbiological analyses and routine control which are individually optimized for their production process, always in a close dialogue.
