Our PCR kits are intended for microtiter plate format in 100 and 200 µL tubes and can be used with real time PCR thermocycler instruments from different manufacturers. They were developed for use in the quality control laboratory of a producing company. You don’t have to be a specialist to use our special analytics and gain reliable results, all kits are outstandingly robust and simple to use. The PCR material can be used individually for each sample so no reaction is lost.
All PIKA Detection Kits are available in different PCR tube formats so they can be used in mostly all common real time PCR thermocycler instruments. Generally you can use our dried PCR mixes without modifications in any real time PCR thermocycler with a thermoblock in microtiter plate format and two channels. Corresponding to the shape of thermoblocks from different thermocycler manufacturers, PIKA Detection kits come with different PCR tubes. TM Detection Kits are containing 200 µL PCR tubes which are higher/skirted, while the PCR tubes in the SO Detection Kits are low profile and have a capacity of 100 µL.
For thermocyclers with proprietary formats other than tubes, e.g. capillaries, the PCR reagents can be transferred into the tubes of the instrument manufacturer. In this case we recommend the use of SO Detection Kits.

All product relevant microorganisms are detected within one single test. The detection limit is some 100 microorganisms which cannot be reached with any other method in the same time. Bacteria or yeasts from a sample are classified according to their spoilage potential and identified.
Our PCR kits are containing all components which are necessary for the analysis pre-dosed and dried in the PCR tubes. So it is guaranteed that all components are always included in the correct ratio in each test. We ship at ambient temperature, PIKA’s PCR kits are stable even at room temperature.
Processing of samples takes only 15 minutes. The results from thermocycling are available within 90 minutes. Our PCR kits are matching to each other. This allows that different analyses as detection of bacteria and yeasts may be done at the same time, efficient and cost saving.
PIKA Detection Kits B were developed for the routine quality control of products and the production line. Different groups of microorganisms which are spoiling a product are specifically detected together by screening kits. A simple yes/no analysis covering all spoilage bacteria in one single test allows the fast and reliable control of the whole production line – and even the costs stay within reasonable limits. Further differentiation is achieved by identification kits which are available for a variety of bacteria species.

PCR detection Kits H are optimized for the examination of beer and sugar containing food and beverages. The complete spectrum of yeasts and molds can be tested with one single analysis – free of yeasts and molds yes/no? Different yeasts which may be critical in different products as beer and wine are detected with specific screening or identification kits.

PIKA Detection Kits S were developed for easy differentiation of molds. If molds are appearing in a process step or in the finished product, the question about their heat resistance is crucial for the further processing. With PCR detection kits, heat resistant molds are clearly identified. Our kits are also in use for the detection of mycotoxin producing Fusarium species on malt, grain and cereals as well as in flour.

Developed for use in a production laboratory: Optimised for the extraction of genomic DNA from beer, wine and other beverages as well as from malt, grain and cereals – for the detection of bacteria, yeasts and molds. Cost saving thanks to simple and fast handling and a minimum of equipment needs.
Spoilt product or positive enrichments are further discriminated – fast and specific by PCR analyses the same day as the samples are received. We further identify unknown bacteria, yeasts or molds from product or the production area within 3 to 5 days by DNA sequencing.
