HISTORY
January 2000: Foundation of the company PIKA Weihenstephan GmbH by Ms. Gudrun Vogeser and two of her co-workers of the research group „PCR in breweries“ as spin-off from the Technical university of Munich-Weihenstephan. PIKA Weihenstephan is working on the development, production and sales of innovative products for microbiological analytics.
February 2002: With completion of the Start up center in Weihenstephan (IZB), we moved into new offices and laboratories as the first tenant. Besides production we are now offering PCR analytics as a service for breweries.
January 2007: Our high quality standard from the beginning proves its worth: All fields of our business activity – services, production, and development – are DIN ISO 9001:2000 certified from TÜV Süd without any complaint.
Juni 2008: Our laboratory is on the move – now our company residues in the Hallertau, in Pfaffenhofen/Ilm, from where we offer to our customers on 265 square meters the whole spectrum of microbiological analyses and our products as PCR kits and nutrient media.
August 2009: Our product range is expanding: PIKA FastOrange for the enrichment of beer and yeast samples is introduced into the market.
January 2010: We receive the quality certificate according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2008 for the fields development, production and services.
May 2010: The YeastFarm is born: Our Hefebank with quality is producing always fresh brewer’s yeast, with a quality certificate, of course.
